That's strange, it's still working for me on my Alexa, I just asked her to "Boil the kettle" and this shows up on the Show 5. ( I did it twice, hence it's already at high temp as it has just boiled...

I have just bought an iKettle and have installed it, the Alexa Skill is available within the Alexa App and it all seems to work as advertised, so I am guessing those who commented to say it was not...
